Description: The objective of the Telefonica Foundation initiative was to improve the living conditions of those with visual, hearing, physical, psychological and communication disabilities, enabling them access to information, communication and training.
Likewise, to encourage training programs to use the JAWS software (screen readers for blind people), the Communication System and Alternative Language for People With Difficulties in Linguistic Communication (SICLA), as in computer studies.
ORT Chile was responsible for designing the methodology, planning, executing and evaluating the training programs.
Those who participated benefited significantly and improved their chances of training and finding a job, they also increased their interaction with their communities leading to a greater quality of life. In addition, special education teachers across the country could enhance student learning through the use of technological tools.
